Missions & Community Outreach

McClendon is focused on serving God in our church, community, and around the world. Our purpose as a church is to make a spiritual impact on individuals in Ouachita Parish and beyond. Ouachita Parish is our responsibility. The missions we do in other places inspires us to be more intentional right here in Ouachita Parish. Check out some of our past mission projects and then join us as we learn more about God and ourselves as we serve!

Community Outreach

Each Spring and Fall, over 300 members of McClendon sign up and participate in a community-wide outreach, "Clear the Pews." On a Sunday afternoon, volunteers help to feed the homeless in Monroe, provide free meals at a local grocery store in West Monroe, visit several nursing homes in West Monroe, provide free snow cones at Kiroli Park, host block parties at local apartment complexes, wash cars, provide free oil changes, work at local laundry mats, provide free groceries to those in need, and other needed areas of service in Ouachita Parish. All in an effort to show God's love to others around us. We usually impact more than 1,000 people with one-on-one ministry on this day.

El Salvador Missions

During the summer each year, McClendon members travel to El Salvador, where we share the Gospel through street witnessing, door-to-door evangelism, visiting in schools, and hosting backyard bible clubs. We paint kid's faces, make balloon animals, serve cotton candy, stuff piƱatas, and love on people. During the winter, we share the Gospel by helping distribute shoeboxes provided by our church members that are filled with gifts and goodies for the kids.
